For the past few weeks, I have been volunteering my talents to assist Arati Kreibich’s congressional primary campaign to unseat “Democratic” Incumbent, Josh Gottheimer in New Jersey’s fifth district. Arati is a progressive immigrant neuroscientist, and Josh (to quote my neighbor), is “really…really not my guy.”
But since Josh has an 8 million dollar war chest, getting a more democratic voice heard in this primary was always going to be un uphill battle, especially with COVID hampering traditional grass-roots primary campaigning.
The results are in, and Josh walked away with it. Still, we gave him enough of a scare that he flooded my YouTube feed with shitty ads for the final week. (Ads that were half as good as Arati’s and, undoubtedly, cost him thousands more to make).

Obviously, I’ll be voting (and possibly campaigning) for Josh in November. Such is American Politics. Hopefully, he’ll change his tune and start listening to the democrats who elect him. We’ll only be louder in 2022.
